Exhibition Statement (provided by the artist)

Elizabeth’s new work includes shapes, rooted in invented abstractions, that become characters when reintroduced to the natural landscape. The “reiterations” were conceived by the process and language of painting, then reduced to drawn structures in negative space. The strange figures prompt a new experience of an otherwise familiar space.
