About Welcome Gallery

Welcome Gallery is a non-profit, storefront exhibition space located on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall. When the gallery is closed to the public, this space is available for private rentals for parties, dinners, or meetings for up to 49 guests.

Adjacent to Welcome Gallery is an office and small kitchenette that can be used by catering staff. Renting Welcome Gallery for your event supports New City Arts’ creative programming for Charlottesville-area artists year-round.

The Space

Welcome Gallery is a 700-square foot storefront gallery equipped with 4 plastic folding tables, 40 chairs, 2 café tables, 4 moveable bar tops, a bluetooth speaker, high-speed fiber internet from Ting, and a projector. Our capacity for private events is 49 for a standing event and 40 guests for a seated event. Capacity may vary, depending on exhibition layout.

Rental fees are affordable and support our vision to make the Charlottesville area a place where a thriving group of local artists unsettle and transform our community to work toward a more just, beautiful future.
