Stop, Snack & Roll with Amanda

On Saturday, October 15 from 12-2PM, join us for a free workshop with October exhibiting artist, Amanda Nelsen. Participants will join Amanda in making “buns” modeled after work in her exhibition, exploring how otherwise quotidian and seemingly worthless single-use materials can be used to create something new and beautiful. All materials will be supplied.

Registration is required. Register in advance by filling out this form.

Amanda Nelsen uses art to respond to and celebrate our place on this earth, highlighting the care we must take and the respect we must show to all living beings if we are to live in peace. She often engages others in the creative process, employing the traditions of printmaking, bookbinding, sculpture, and public art in her work. Read her full bio here.

COVID-19 Visitor Policy: Masks are encouraged at this workshop. Please do not come to Welcome Gallery if you have been exposed to COVID-19, are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or have been advised to isolate or quarantine.

Located at 114 3rd St. NE, Welcome Gallery is downtown, storefront art space in Charlottesville, VA, run by New City Arts Initiative, a non-profit community arts organization. This same location houses NCAI staff offices and a studio space.
