M. Pittman
Artist Fellow
M. Pittman (she/her, they/them) is a poet, photographer, Black Joy enthusiast, and emerging artivist located in the South. Their work is inspired by a marriage of joy and grief’s inner workings.
M. Pittman has received fellowships from The Watering Hole, Open Mouth, and Sampaguita Press. Their work has appeared in Brown Sugar Lit and Círculo de Poesía, with Spanish translations by Nieves García Prados.
During their 2024 New City Arts Fellowship, will explore Black Hair as landscape. This visual exploration of a hair journey will be externalized through black and white photography including floral elements accompanied by haiku.
