Artist Interview, Exhibiting Artist

Liz Zhang works in painting, printmaking, and textiles. Her work is often characterized by scenes of figures or the spaces those figures might inhabit, through which she explores exclusion, alliance, isolation, and coexistence. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 2019 and was a 2019-2020 UVA Fifth-Year Aunspaugh Fellow. Since then, she has exhibited work and taught workshops in Virginia, as well as participated in the Studios at MASS MoCA residency and the Elizabeth Murray Artist Residency.
