John Grant is a visual artist who lives and works in Charlottesville, Virginia. His most recent solo show “Attraction” (December, 2019) was at Second Street Gallery in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he showed a new body of botanical work for which he is best known.
From the cover of Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling novel, New Moon, to the gallery walls at Kew Gardens, London, where he recently placed in two categories of the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition, the work of John Grant captivates the viewer and brings new attention to the beauty that lies within our daily reach.
Grant’s work is found in many major collections, including The United States National Institute of Health, The United States Federal Reserve Board, the permanent collection of Capital One, and many other private collections both nationally and internationally. His work has been featured in Elle Decor magazine and has been licensed by Apple Computer among many other uses.
In his own words: “My interest is to create imagery that holds attention. Speaking out from a source of wisdom, connection to self, or from some seemingly important question or even simple wonderment. I express myself using contemporary photographic tools, but stretching them as imagination allows.”
