Brian Simalchik (he/him) is a composer who writes music embracing emotional directness, evocative sounds and structures, and the expressive potential of silence and space. He's had performances and been commissioned by leading ensembles and performers, including Roomful of Teeth, the Slee Sinfonietta, Yarn/Wire, Talea Ensemble, and Wild Shore New Music. A graduate of The Hartt School and Williams College, Brian lives in Charlottesville, VA, where he's hosted "A New Sound," new classical music radio show, on WTJU 91.1 FM since 2019.
