About the Artist (provided by the artist)

Kaki is interested in the animal kingdom and what happens beneath the surface. Her whimsical illustrations blur the lines between the animal kingdom and our built landscape by making much of what's familiar to us (birds and downtown buildings) strange through exaggerated scale and comical relationships (like a penguin walking a turtle). After her first public exhibit in October 2011, Kaki has had a wave of a successful shows and is currently designing her first large-scale piece with the Charlottesville Murals Project.
