Exhibition Statement (provided by the artist)

What would it be like to leave a job (with a real salary), move home (across the country) and dedicate a year to making art? In an empty, 8x12 cubicle with overwhelming uncertainty, it feels like fear and a bad decision.

With persistence and an odd assortment of carpentry scraps (from a day job in construction) however, I made sketches; I drew  the spaces I wished I could inhabit; I dreamt with my fingers. One year later? I came to see I had been designing and building, dare I say, rather confident, outlandish hats!

Please enjoy this selection of work from a bold year of discovery.
