Exhibition Statement (provided by the artist)

“Play the Radio” is a site-specific installation that blurs the lines between white-walled art gallery, public radio station, and private living room. The exhibition features ‘thread’ drawings, a ticker tape video poem, and objects from the artist’s home. The artist invites the audience view, sit on, and touch the artwork.

About the Artist (provided by the artist)

Amanda Wagstaff is a native Virginian and an alumna of the College of William and Mary. Last year, she earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is currently an Artist-in-Residence at New City Arts Initiative. In September, she will move to Dublin, Ireland where she will begin a new research project titled “Pilgrims Travel Differently” with the help of a Fulbright independent research grant.
