Exhibition Opening for “Empire Is Over: The Lewis, Clark, and Sacajawea Cut-Ups”

Join us for an exhibition opening on February 2, 2024 from 5:00-7:30PM for Empire Is Over: The Lewis, Clark, and Sacajawea Cut-Ups an exhibition by Meesha Goldberg. An artist performance will be held at 6PM.

Light snacks, wine, and seltzer will be available. The event is free and open to the public, all ages are welcome.

This exhibition is the culmination of a project of the New City Arts Research Residency Program. The New City Arts Fall Residency was supported by the Anne and Gene Worrell Foundation. This exhibition is supported by the Community Endowment Fund at the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation, the Bama Works Fund of Dave Matthews Band at the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation, and Lisa M. Draine.


Located at 114 3rd St. NE, Welcome Gallery is downtown, storefront art space in Charlottesville, VA, run by New City Arts Initiative, a non-profit community arts organization. This same location houses NCAI staff offices and a studio space.
