On Friday, May 19 from 12-1PM, join us for a free, hands-on cyanotype workshop with May exhibiting artist, Jackson Taylor. During the workshop, participants will learn about the cyanotype printing process and will have the opportunity to make their own cyanotypes.

Jackson Taylor’s Fever Creek is on view at Welcome Gallery through May 25. Currently the Assistant Professor of Printmaking and Drawing at the University of Virginia, Jackson was born and raised in rural Kentucky on an intergenerational cattle and tobacco farm. He holds a BFA in 2D Studio Art from the University of Louisville and received his MFA in Printmaking and Drawing from the University of Iowa in 2021. He is a master of lithography and monotype processes, which he uses to generate multifaceted prints and drawings about growing up in the American South. Taylor conducts printmaking workshops across the US and has exhibited his work internationally.
Located at 114 3rd St. NE, Welcome Gallery is downtown, storefront art space in Charlottesville, VA, run by New City Arts Initiative, a non-profit community arts organization. This same location houses NCAI staff offices and a studio space.
