You're invited to make Welcome Gallery your office for the day on May 14. We'll be open for co-working from 10AM-5PM and will provide coffee, snacks, great internet (Thanks, Ting!), tables and chairs, plenty of plugs for laptops, and a microwave for your lunch (no shellfish, please). Plus, you’ll have a great view of Vibha Vijay’s exhibition, one hand washes the other.
From 12-1PM, artist Mara Sprafkin will host a Drop In Still Life and Watercolor Session at Welcome Gallery. Take a creative break from your work day and drop in for a still life drawing and watercolor session! The still life will incorporate Mara’s handmade paper flowers which visitors are welcome to take home afterwards! Feel free to bring objects you’d like to draw and any supplies you’d like to use. We’ll also have some art supplies available.
Please note, this is an open and shared gallery space. It will be a great place to read, write, or work quietly—but it probably isn't the best place for virtual meetings or calls. Visitors are welcome to take calls outside the gallery during their workday.
Stay for the whole day or a couple of hours. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is not required.
Located at 114 3rd St. NE, Welcome Gallery is downtown, storefront art space in Charlottesville, VA, run by New City Arts Initiative, a non-profit community arts organization. This same location houses NCAI staff offices and a studio space.
