Welcome Gallery is a downtown art space that hosts monthly exhibits by local artists and curators. Located in Charlottesville, VA, Welcome Gallery sees about 4,750 visitors each year. For information about past exhibits, visit the Welcome Gallery page on our website.
GALLERY GUIDELINES
Exhibiting artists and curators must be local to the Charlottesville area.
Each artist must commit to not hosting a similar exhibit in Charlottesville 3 months prior to an opening at Welcome Gallery.
Preference will be given to artists exhibiting new work.
New City Arts does not exhibit explicit content. Offensive language, graphic nudity, and obscene violence are not permitted.
Artists exhibiting multimedia installations involving projection and/or sound may be required to provide equipment necessary for installation.
Artists receive 75% of all sales, and New City Arts receives a 25% commission on all work sold.
HOW TO APPLY
Applications open for the upcoming season in the spring. The application period for our 2019/2020 season are now closed. Keep an eye out in spring 2020 to learn when the 2020/2021 application period will open.

Located at 114 3rd St. NE, Welcome Gallery is downtown, storefront art space in Charlottesville, VA, run by New City Arts Initiative, a non-profit community arts organization. This same location houses NCAI staff offices and a studio space.
