Exhibition Opening for Drawings from Jail

Join New City Arts on October 5, 2018 from 5:00-7:30PM for an opening reception for Drawings from Jail, an exhibition of pen drawings by Michael Doyle. This series of illustrations was drawn over the course of a year the artist spent in jail and explores themes ranging from isolation to redemption.

An image of a pencil-on-paper drawing of a figure staring out of a barred window of a brick-walled cell. There is a bird in the window and the figure in black-and-white striped clothes tilts their head as if in conversation with the bird.
