Exhibition Opening for Coming Close

Join New City Arts at Welcome Gallery on December 4, 2015, from 5:00-7:30PM for an opening reception for Coming Close, new work by Matt Kleberg.

An abstract painting by Matt Kleberg entitled Thanatos Syndrome. There are thick, bold lines of contrasting colors creating a symmetrical image of what might be a doorway on either side from the center.

This opening is part of Charlottesville’s First Friday Art Walk. The event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome.

Matt Kleberg lives and works in Brooklyn. He grew up in Texas and spent nine years in Charlottesville before moving to New York. He received his BA in Painting and Religious Studies from the University of Virginia and his MFA from the Pratt Institute.

Located at 114 3rd St. NE, Welcome Gallery is downtown, storefront art space in Charlottesville, VA, run by New City Arts Initiative, a non-profit community arts organization. This same location houses NCAI staff offices and a studio space.
