Cheers for Charity: Paint + Poetry Mural Signing Ceremony

The Charlottesville Mural Project is pleased to partner with Starr Hill Brewery as part of their “Cheers for Charity” fundraiser in June 2015. Throughout June, $1 for every pint of beer sold in the Starr Hill Brewery Tap Room will be donated to the Charlottesville Mural Project.

A section of a photograph of a mural along the side of starr hill brewery in Charlottesville, VA. There is a musician in profile before the Blue Ridge Mountains and scripted white text that reads: "My heart is a Blue Ridge Mountain."

In partnership with New City Arts, the Charlottesville Mural Project is painting a mural in Crozet, across the street from the Starr Hill Tap Room this summer, as a part of our collaborative Paint & Poetry mural series. For this mural, Central-VA-based illustrator, Duncan Robertson, designed a mural that portrays musicians, the Claudius Crozet tunnel, and surrounding landscape of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Starr Hill Brewery worked with Hurray for the Riff Raff to include lyrics that draw inspiration from the Blue Ridge Mountains and connect with our local heritage.

Join us on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 5-8PM for a mural signing ceremony at Starr Hill’s New Packaging Party in the Starr Hill Tap Room with live music by Delta Function, food from Mouth Wide Open, and a chance to win prizes, including VIP tickets to FloydFest.  We’ll hear remarks from Brian McNelis, President and CEO of Starr Hill Brewery, followed by a public mural signing ceremony where we’ll be joined by Duncan Robertson, mural artist, and Ann Mallek, Crozet delegate of the Albemarle Board of Supervisors.

The Starr Hill Brewery Tap Room is located at 5391 Three Notch’d Road in Crozet, VA. Go to www.StarrHill.com/Visit for hours and more information.
