On Monday, January 14, 2013, Charlottesville SOUP hosted its first community meal at The Bridge PAI. Online tickets were not available.

The community response to the event was unbelievable. Over 250 people showed up in the rain to participate in the event, though due to limited seating, many of these community members were not able to attend. Many of those who were not able to attend donated their ticket funds to the grant for the artist.
