Brittany Fan

Brittany Fan, an Asian woman with brown eyes and long, side-parted dark hair, poses before a red brick wall with one hand on her hip and smiling. She is wearing a white short-sleeve dress with a geometric black dot pattern and gold dangle earrings.

Brittany Fan is a member of the creative team at Journey Group, a local design company that has been coming alongside organizations to tell their stories visually and editorially for as long as she’s been alive. In addition to her work as a graphic designer, she is a freelance photographer and a visual artist specializing in painting, illustration, and lettering. Brittany graduated from the University of Virginia, where she completed undergraduate studies in Studio Art, Art History and Arts Administration, along with a Masters in Elementary Education.

Brittany’s involvement with New City Arts began while she was a student at U.Va., and only grew as she settled into life as a local artist. The intersection of beauty, imagination, and community is something she is deeply drawn to, and these things are central to both her personal creative practices as well as her hopes for the world around her. When she is not creating with paint or pixels, Brittany enjoys testing recipes for her food blog and feeding people the results, slowly rehabilitating her yard into a garden, and exploring the outdoors with her dog and her friends.
