Wes Swing
SOUP Grantee
Wes Swing is a cellist, singer, and composer. He developed an early appreciation for classical music as a four year old violinist and later found his true musical love in playing and composing for cello while studying Latin at university. In live performance he uses electronic looping, where stark instrumentation transitions into electronic escapades and flourishing crescendos. Wes has toured throughout the US and Europe and been a featured performer at the Shanghai Improvisation Festival. His music is regularly featured on NPR, in film, and in modern dance.
