Jennifer Hoyt Tidwell is a theatre and performance artist. She creates cross-disciplinary collaborations involving multiple artists. Some of her recent projects include: an electropop dance opera based on near death experiences called The Near Misses which toured the East Coast from 2019=2020; in 2018, a looping animatronic outdoor performance called "Move Along Nothing to See Here," which addressed the Confederate statue controversy in Charlottesville as part of the Art in Odd Places exhibition at UVA;. Drugsong, in 2017, a play commissioned by Victory Hall Opera, which premiered at UVA's Brooks Hall. She was the 2016 Public Artist at the Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative and adapted her play NO WAKE as an outdoor multimedia performance. From 2014-2015 she toured her mobile micro-gallery of reflection, While You Wait. She is the co-founder of CLAW, a theatrical ladies armwrestling collective that has spread throughout the US and Europe. She teaches language arts and history in middle school at Mountaintop Montessori and holds an MFA in Playwriting.
