Eileen Johnson

Artist Fellow, Exhibiting Artist

Eileen Johnson (she/her) is a visual artist who uses an intuitive collage process to translate her conscious and subconscious thoughts into physical representations. Her artistic practice, sprung from the days of the early pandemic, tracks her journey towards personal liberation and self-acceptance, amidst the isolation, rejection, and uncertainty of the past few years. She makes use of eye-catching juxtapositions to challenge how we see things and to help us imagine a more just and loving world.

During her Fellowship, Eileen will use collage to reclaim soft spots as liberatory within a world that seeks control through hardening. She will explore the shame, difficulty, and beauty in returning to soft spots.
