Exhibiting Artist, Artist Exchange, Artist Fellow

Autumn Samone (she/they) is an interdisciplinary creative working with contingents of touch, alternative placial histories and dysphoric realities in the multiplicitous body. Unfolding includes weaving through tensions existing in, and pushing against systems that are designed to contain an individual's state of being. Architectonic motifs, pseudo-spatial imagery and flesh adjacents serve as proxies that are used to invite and release the material conditions of the psyche’s tenuous existence.

Autumn is a Charlottesville-based visual artist and is the recipient of a UVa Aunspaugh Fellowship and MASS MoCA Fellowship. Autumn graduated from Uva with a B.A. in Studo Art in 2024 and is currently the 2025-26 Freeman Artist Residency Fellow.
