Somé Louis is a Charlottesville-based conceptual artist. She creates figural embroideries and works on paper, as well as installations and performances on video as a means to explore themes of memory, home, family history, and identity. Somé holds a BA in Studio Art and Art History from Wellesley College, and is an active member in the Charlottesville art and creative community. She recently completed a solo exhibition at New City Arts, alongside group exhibitions at Les Yeux Du Monde and Second Street Gallery. Her work has been featured in publications such as C-VILLE Weekly and Charlottesville Family. Somé is a McGuffey Art Center renting member, and holds an active studio practice.
