Lou Haney is a Charlottesville-based artist whose vibrant, mixed-media paintings transform domestic spaces into nostalgic sanctuaries. Blending oil, acrylic, and fiber art, Haney explores memory, femininity, and the tension between fantasy and reality, offering psychological refuge from modern chaos.

Originally from Alabama, Haney earned her MFA from Claremont Graduate University in Southern California. Her career includes residencies at MacDowell and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Recently featured at New York’s Spring/Break Art Fair, Haney has upcoming exhibitions at MOCA Arlington and the Eleanor D. Wilson Museum in Roanoke. She currently teaches at Piedmont Virginia Community College, Sweet Briar College, Charlottesville Middle School.
