Krista Townsend earned a BA from Pennsylvania State University and an MA from Johns Hopkins University. She was honored to be a J & E Berkley Foundation Fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in 2019 and a semifinalist for the Bethesda Painting Award in 2023. She has shown her work at Second Street Gallery, Phaeton Gallery, Les Yeux du Monde, Glavé Kocen Gallery, the Connaughton Gallery at UVA, Beverly Street Studio School, and the NIH. Krista's work is in many national and regional collections such as the Eleanor D. Wilson Museum at Hollins University, UVA, VCU, and Sentara Martha Jefferson.
