Grey Von Cannon | Soft Parts

From June 6-25, 2025,, New City Arts presents Soft Parts, a solo exhibition by Grey Von Cannon.

Exhibition Statement (provided by the artist)

As a queer person in an ongoing search for belonging, my understanding of home has evolved from a rooted physical place and collected objects to the body I inhabit. Much like a home, this exhibition threads together an abundant display of familiar items and paintings representative of the tensions and comforts found within. Often viewed as “too much,” I intentionally create from a place of abundance. Bright colors, imperfect shapes, and vibrant patterns come together to explore themes of holding and being held. Moving between abstraction and representation, these works invite viewers to walk through my colorful world and consider their own understanding of home.
