Re-Imagining the City: Design Charrette

On Saturday, April 16, from 9am- 2pm, New City Arts and AIA Central Virginia will host a design charrette at The Haven (112 W. Market St) during Charlottesville’s Architecture Week.

Haven guests will write and draw new designs for their ideal piece of public infrastructure (a transit system, a park, a community center, the street lights, and a bridge.) Architects will meet with guests to draw up models and further visual representations of these ideas.

Coffee will be provided by Mudhouse. Lunch will be provided for participants and volunteers by Eppies. The event is limited to selected guests, architects, and volunteers.

On FridayMay 6, from 5-7pm, all writings, drawings, and models from Haven guests and architects will be on display for First Fridays at the WVTF and Radio IQ Studio Gallery (216 W. Water St.). This exhibit will be free and open to the public.
