QU4RTETS visit with New City Arts

Join New City Arts for a visit to Roanoke College on Friday, January 17 for QU4RTETS - a collaborative project, featuring paintings by Mako Fujimura and Bruce Herman, an original piano and string quartet composition by Christopher Theofanidis, and theological reflections by Duke professor and pianist, Jeremy Begbie.

Bruce Herman QU4ARTETS No. 2 (Summer), an alkyd resin gold leaf on wood. It is an abstract painting of a female figure holding her arms open with her back to the viewer in front of a tree with many branches.

This artistic collaboration has been created by the artists' responses and inspiration derived from T.S. Eliot's poem, Four Quartets. On January 17 from 6-9 PM at Roanoke College, join New City Arts for a visit to the QU4RTETS exhibit opening reception, a music program by the Kandinsky Trio, and artist talks by Bruce and Mako.

This event is $15 per person to cover New City Arts costs (including gas, since we will be carpooling. This fee will be discounted for drivers). We'll be leaving Charlottesville around 3:30 PM (to catch dinner beforehand) and leaving around 8:45 PM or so to head back to Charlottesville.
