Pop Up Advent Concert with Claire Hitchins

New City Arts presents musician-in-residence Claire Hitchins at Welcome Gallery on Wednesday, December 14. Join us at 7PM for a pop up concert of Advent songs as well as music from Claire's debut album, These Bodies. We'll provide warm cider and treats.No need to purchase tickets, but there will be a $5 suggested donation at the door.

In December 2015, Claire recorded and produced her first EP, People, Look East!, including songs for Advent. She shared them with friends and family and was ultimately featured on On Being, the post titled "The Greatest Gifts Shared Were the Songs." Claire has since moved back to Charlottesville to pursue music and has been our artist-in-residence since September 2016. 

About Claire

Claire’s homespun musical sensibility was fashioned among the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, formed as much by the deciduous forests and swimming holes of her home state as by the traditional songs of the American South. Her simple, soulful folk melodies weave a musical fabric that is at once spacious and intimate.
