July New City Arts and Crafts

You're invited to New City Arts and Crafts, a monthly drop-in event for parents and kids at Welcome Gallery. This month's event will be held on Wednesday, July 19 from 10am-11am featuring Grit coffee and snacks (for adults and kids), Tattly temporary tattoos (for adults and kids), and an exhibit with drawings and etchings by Nina Thomas.

Young visitors at the Welcome Gallery for New City Arts & Crafts July. Two siblings' arms overla, showing off their temporary tattoos: one is a pink watch that displays the word "LATE" in digital text, and the other is a blue butterfly.

10-10:15 AM: Get settled, get coffee, get a snack, and put on a temporary tattoo.

10:15-10:30 AM: Circle up for reading time.

10:30-11 AM: We'll explore some colorful patterns Nina uses in her work. Then, we'll supply crayons and collage materials for kids to create patterns in a drawing by Nina Thomas.

Everyone is welcome to take home the collaborative drawing they create. We can adapt this activity for ages 2-5, though younger children (including babies) are also welcome to attend. New City Arts and Crafts is an opportunity for you to see the exhibit while meeting other families in the community and providing a creative outlet for kids, all over a morning cup of Grit coffee. Staff will be on site, but you are responsible for any guests or children you may bring.

The event is free, but RSVP is required due to limited space. Attendees are welcome to give a suggested donation of $5-$10 at the door or online in advance. To RSVP, email maureen@newcityarts.org with the number of adults and kids attending.

New City Arts and Crafts is sponsored by Tattly and Grit Coffee.
