Eileen French

Eileen French is a figurative painter who currently has a studio in the McGuffey Art Center in Charlottesville, Virginia, she has been very active as a member of since 2011. Eileen spent a good bit of her upbringing in Australia and England but also kept her southern Louisiana roots intact, as it remained home base for many years. Travel and cultural influences have made an impact on her interest and studies of art; seeing the world of art up close and living in historic places. Painting and drawing were her primary areas of study while pursuing both undergraduate and graduate studies at Louisiana State University. Eileen has always had an interest in fashion, art, design, gardening, and display and she worked in the fashion world for many years. The past decade has been an exploration into painting figurative works and considering ideas about our social behaviors while using found images on social media for painting ideas. Eileen and her husband Brent have raised 3 children, creative forces, all 3 and they currently enjoy traveling to see the younger 2 perform in their musical groups.
