The New City Artist Exchange is an annual, artist-led program that brings together local artists to create and exchange a unique set of artworks with one another.
“I honestly don't know what so many of us would do without the support and community that New City Arts has created in Charlottesville, it is an essential part the framework our our small city.” - Mara Sprafkin, New City Exhibiting Artist, Resident Artist, and Founder of the New City Artist Exchange
Founded by New City Artist-in-Residence, Mara Sprafkin, the New City Artist Exchange builds community among local artists through an artwork exchange. Modeled after a traditional print exchange, this program invites a handful of local artists every year to make and exchange multiples of one work with one another.
