Workshops & Talks

New City Arts Workshops & Talks range from hands-on community arts workshops to formal artist presentations about their practice.

Monthly Artist Talks: In conjunction with New City Arts galleries and studio programs, exhibiting artists and artists-in-residence regularly host public talks about their work.

Public Arts Lectures: New City Arts occasionally hosts public arts lectures by national or international artists like The Henningham Family Press, Linnea Spransy, and Dana Tanamachi.

The Collector's Series: A tour and lecture series in people's home, The Collector's Series introduces community members to a wide range of Charlottesville art collections in order to inspire art-buying, gift-giving, or bartering at all stages of life.

Workshops: Since we love making new things together, New City Arts hosts community workshops to led by Charlottesville area makers who teach us new skills like how to create needle-felt sculpture, collaborative collage, wreaths, and more.
