Sarah Pickell works as a nurse at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Previously, she was Director of Communications and Development at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture, and worked as Assistant to the President at the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities.
Before moving to Charlottesville, Sarah worked at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, where her work focused on measuring organizational effectiveness and disseminating findings from grantees. She received a BA in history from the College of William & Mary, a certificate in Public Health from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and a MSN from the University of Virginia. She lives in Charlottesville with her husband and two young daughters. Sarah loves living in a place with a lively arts community, and is excited about supporting the important work of New City Arts.
