After returning from four years in the Peace Corps, Bruce Wardell founded brwarchitects in 1983. For over thirty years, he has led the design work of the firm for a range of award-winning projects that include residences, churches, synagogues, historic buildings, urban design and affordable housing. He was a founding board member of Habitat for Humanity and Christ Community Church in Charlottesville. He is married to Ginny Cole Wardell, who enjoys running the CHS Orchestra Boosters, volunteering at Live Arts, and leading her church’s women’s ministry. They have four children; Abigail, Zachary, Lillie and Scottie scattered between Ohio, Virginia, South Carolina and Florida. Bruce spends much of his leisure time on the tennis courts around Charlottesville.
