From September 1-29, 2017, New City Arts presents Selves and Selfies, an exhibition of prints by Sarah Ho and paintings by Eileen French.
EXHIBITION DETAILS
Sara's recent work explores the themes of Doppelgangers, doubles and identities. These works are a contemplative exploration of what lies in the space between multiple selves.
Eileen’s current body of work is inspired by found images on Social Media, enjoying the profoundly different way that portraiture now comes to us through a proliferation of selfies in our daily feeds. She considers these works to be a collaborative, community building experience.
MEET THE ARTISTS
Sara Ho is an artist working between Charlottesville and Richmond. She is a recent grad from UVA, where she took classes in printmaking.
Eileen French is a painter who has lives in Charlottesville and has a studio at the McGuffey Art Center. Eileen grew up in Louisiana, Australia and England and aside from painting is slightly obsessed with fashion, gardening and decorating. Her work tends to focus on the fun side of life; she instills her work with a sense of silliness and humor.
