From July 17-31, 2020 New City Arts presents chaos, a pop-up exhibit of paintings by Amdane Sanda. Take a walk downtown any time this month to see them through the large Welcome Gallery window or learn more below about how to schedule an appointment to see the exhibit in the gallery.
Chaos; a reflection of life and self. Finding the calm in the calamity and understanding that an artist is lost when they think they must create for others rather for themselves.
MEET THE ARTIST
Amdane Sanda is originally from West Africa, Togo, but grew up in America for most of his life. His artistic self was heavily impacted by the transitions he's overcome throughout life, and with each transition comes a greater understanding of who he is. Amdane is mainly self taught but his education and, what later became his passion for art, was fed through the typical art electives taken in grade school. He currently lives in Charlottesville, Virginia and is currently practicing art at his home and basement studio.
