From January 9-January 30, 2015, New City Arts presents the "New City Artist Exchange," featuring 16 small works from 16 Charlottesville artists at The WVTF and Radio IQ Studio Gallery.
In fall 2014, the New City Artist Exchange brought together 17 Charlottesville-based artists to create and exchange a unique set of artworks with one another. Each artist created a piece derived from a broad set of abstract themes. The New City Artist Exchange was facilitated by New City Arts and Paul Handler.
2014 participating artists include Ashley Walton, Amanda Finn, Dean Dass, Hannah Barefoot, Jessica Lee, Joy Meyer, Katie Pennock, Kendall Cox, Laura Snyder, Malena Magnolia, Mara Sprafkin, Matt Leech, Matt Pamer, Pamela Pecchio, Stephanie Fishwick, and Victoria Long.
Artwork (including prints, photographs, works on paper, and hand-dyed silk) will be on exhibit and for individual sale at WVTF. Each artwork frame was designed and built by Calvin Brondyke, with much gratitude for guidance from Dean Dass.
Presented by NPR, WVTF and Radio IQ, and New City Arts, our exhibit opening reception is sponsored by Feast! and Potter's Craft Cider. *Please note: this reception is scheduled for the second Friday of January, due to the holiday weekend that includes January’s First Friday.
