Are you interested in joining the New City Arts team? We're hiring a full-time Program Manager. Applications must be received by Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 11:59PM.
New City Arts Initiative / Program Manager
New City Arts takes a collaborative approach to making Charlottesville a better place through a robust portfolio of arts and community programs. We are committed to cultivating new audiences for the arts, supporting the careers of local artists, and supporting creative placemaking in Charlottesville. Run by an ecumenical board, we sit at the intersection of a diverse community, we facilitate dynamic partnerships, and we often work with local congregations to further our mission. At New City Arts, you are likely to leave remarking that you engaged good art, met an interesting artist, had a good conversation with a person you would never have met otherwise, ate some fantastic food, and laughed and/or grimaced at a ridiculous pun.
We are seeking a full-time program manager to join New City Arts. The successful candidate will be a team player who is excited to work in a creative environment to collaboratively achieve the organization’s mission. New City Arts has a robust program portfolio and consists of a two-person staff team, so in addition to our major job responsibilities, we all make coffee, clean the kitchen, make copies, sweep, and run errands. The position requires great communication, imagination, juggling multiple projects at once, a get-things-done attitude, and lots of schlepping.
We want someone to join our team who believes in our mission and loves working with other creative people. As a small and growing arts non-profit, we will rely on you to help refine this position to fit the organization’s needs and your strengths.
We love pie so we made a pie chart of what the job looks like. One-third of your time will be spent coordinating Housing2Home, a collaborative program with The Haven to support newly-housed, formerly-homeless individuals and families as they turn their space into a home.
