Exhibition Opening for “repair is the dream of the broken thing”

Join us for an exhibition opening on December 1, 2023 from 5:00-7:30PM for repair is the dream of the broken thing, an installation by Matt Shelton. An artist talk will be held at 6PM.

 
 

Image features “Elephant and Rider (twomb)”, a 2022 site-specific wall drawing that was part of Matt Shelton’s 2022 Principia College exhibition, “pretend, witness”.

Light snacks, wine, and seltzer will be available. The event is free and open to the public, all ages are welcome.

Located at 114 3rd St. NE, Welcome Gallery is downtown, storefront art space in Charlottesville, VA, run by New City Arts Initiative, a non-profit community arts organization. This same location houses NCAI staff offices and a studio space.
