Artist Exchange
Modeled after a traditional print exchange, the New City Artist Exchange brings together Charlottesville-area artists to create and exchange a unique set of artworks with one another every year.
About This Program
Each artist creates an edition of identical artworks (no larger than a record sleeve) to exchange with one another. Each artist receives a full set of artwork from the artists in the exchange. Led by Mara Sprafkin (2013-2014 New City Resident Artist), New City Arts, and Paul Handler, the New City Artist Exchange builds community by facilitating a network of artist peers and has supported the creation and exchange of new work between 110 Charlottesville-area artists since 2014.
